Easycares and blowfly

We run a lot of shedders. Love the exlana. Run a lot of shedders next to mules, shoulder to shoulder. Run them on low input grass land, high input grass land and next year will even be lambing a load inside. Good sheep, will keep going till we are all shedders and should be around the 3500 mark eventually when we cap it. All lambs dead weight, averaged 21 kilo on the hook last year and good grades.

Lowest input mob this year got turned out start of March onto water meadows. Checked once a day at lambing, in April / May. Been gathered once to ring and click x bred lambs and will be gathered again to wean. Ewes left to it then until tupping really.

I can now report we had 83% clearance with a £745 average (y)
Pretty pleased with that ---top price was £1420 ---8 rams sold over £1000
And the average uplift price was £113

Next day sales bring us up to 92% clearance View attachment 704112 View attachment 704114

It was really encouraging that people were buying on figures ---they had a shortlist of rams before they arrived , selected on EBVs, they then checked for physical soundness/structure etc

And then at the end of the day it rained! ----What more could you want! View attachment 704116

Lucky I ended up at the back of the queue of truck and trailers...... otherwise I'd have missed the crafty sponge cake you boys got out at the end :hungry::D

Sounds like you had a great sale. I’ll have to raid the piggy bank before I get one [emoji85]

I’m afraid I still need to get my head around the figures and try to understand them.
