Can't read the whole article as it's behind a paywall, but why aren't AHDB and NFU screaming this from the rooftops?
Eventually theyl realise that eatin what god has provided is actually good for u and isnt destroyin the planet and that "fake" meat is just gonna bring on some sort of health problems. Id rather take my chances startin smokin than eatin that rubbish as imho ud be more likely to end way cancer than the smoke

I saw this, and it backs up other similar recent reports, but people have difficulty in believing it.

The odd thing is that it was studies from the dairy loving population of Finland, etc. that was sounding the alarm for a high fat diet years and years ago.

I'm always reminded of that film where the Sleeper wakes up after 20 years and is handed a Mars bar, as the best food available.

The Finnish experience is very debatable , but one thing is for certain, there heart attack rate has dropped like a stone and cheese intake has risen 60%

Put a lump of margarine out in the back yard. Neither a bird dog cat rat or whatever will touch it. Was developed in US to fatten turkeys. Sadly it killed them so they sold it to stupid humans as healthy. It killed my mother. Heard Mary Berry telling Vegans that they could make cakes and icing with margarine rather than butter. Great news lot less vegans around soon.

I have eaten loads of animal fat all my life and I haven’t had a heart attack yet. Fairly thin as well. I prefer the fat to the meat and hate the EUROP grid as it promotes lean dry cuts of stringy meat as per continental beef breeds.
My old mate always preferred fat old wethers for home killing. So much fat it was running out the oven door.

Read a long time ago that eating animal fats while still a young kid is healthy. Once thier bodies are used to having it its never going to harm them like the veggie burger brigade preach. My dad loved cream on puddings and ate it most days. He made it to 91 without a heart attack. My mother in law just had a mini heart attack and then a stroke but she’s a picky eater and won’t even look at a juice steak with fat but will eat pizza and processed food.

I've changed my diet. I avoid bread and Fresh Chilli and Super Potent Chilli sauce.. But every other weekend when the missus is off we'll have Toast... Proper bread *No pics of me making it in my socks or owt like that.... no-one gives a f**k get a a grip" ...battered with Britanny Butter on a Sat & Sun.

And I'll have a Pint of full-fat Welsh Milk every week. Then its's a normal eat the rest of the week,.I feel better & fresher.

The whole keep away from saturated fats and fats in general idea is proving to be yet another sad episode in human "knowledge". Ancel Keys and his collaborators have a lot to answer for. It's difficult to believe that these people managed to convince the whole world that black was white. Other scientists at the time disagreed with them but were ignored. Yet here we are, and the suffering goes on. But at long last some real thought is going into shining a light on how they got it upside down, and the correct message on fat is starting to make some headway.

Mix of age, genetics, cholesterol and inflammation. You can get blocked arteries with low cholesterol levels too though less common. Numbers of heart attacks started falling before statins came along possibly linked to healthier life and fewer chronic infections from childhood which inflame your arteries and make them narrow.

So what would the heath experts on here think is causing arteries to fir up and eventualy couse heart problems
The current thinking, at least from those researchers not still totally wedded to the disproven "diet heart hypothesis" that animal fats cause artery clogging which causes heart attacks, is that genetics play a big role in vulnerability to them but the trigger is inflammation of the artery linings. The hypothesis is that the major cause of this is high sugar intakes and the negative effects of trans-fats and hydrogenated vegetable oils.

Ironic really, it reverses the dietary advice absolutely if they are right (and I think they are).

Add in that the statin industry invest huge sums into ongoing "studies" to create support for the "cut your cholesterol to cut your heart attack risk" message and you see why things are so confused. There's huge profit in statins and it depends on persuading folk that they need them, the key result of reinforcing that message. Expect to see a vicious response to this evidence about the benefits of meat and dairy as it threatens the very survival of some very wealthy, well-connected corporations.

Heart attack rates in western society only climbed when ultra-processed diets became normal. Every country that sees such dietary change sees a big rise in heart attacks at the same time. indigenous peoples who still live on diets very high in animal products and do not eat western processed foods have incredibly low heart attack rates.

Draw your own conclusions.

My cardiologist didn't much like me making these points a few weeks ago when he called me as a follow up 18 months after my heart attack. He insists I should still be on 80mg of Atorvastatin daily and avoiding dairy and red meats to keep my cholesterol level down. When I asked him why I had me heart attack, given that I wasn't overweight, don't smoke (and last did so over 30 years ago), was (and still am) physically fit and active, had LOW blood pressure and a LOW resting pulse rate he just said he couldn't say as we still don't really understand the mechanisms causing heart attacks..... :ROFLMAO:
