Eating out

You have popped into town and are feeling peckish. Being 10am Sunday only two eateries are open; McDonalds and an independent vegan cafe. Which one gets your business, and why ?

McDonald’s:

1. I can check what’s in their food and they are fastidious regarding allergens.
2. The majority of their menu will be sourced from UK producers (I believe the chicken isn’t, plus some salads)
3. I grow seed potatoes that end up as their chips, and they contribute to a grower grant development fund
4. If you don’t have anything fizzy or sweet I don’t think it’s that bad for you
5. You’re in and out quickly if you’re in before the toonsers wake up at 11.00
6. Their advertising campaigns of the last few years has been more beneficial to UK agriculture than anything RT or NFU have managed lately.
7. I know what I’m going to get and won’t come away feeling ripped off.
8. I don’t like the vegan propaganda machine and it’s web of lies
9. In March I don’t think much of the vegan fare would be from the UK.
10. I don’t like avocados or mushrooms, so that’s 2/3 of the vegan menu out.
11. Won’t eat quorn as it’s an animal feed so that’s the other 1/3 of the vegan menu out.
12. I don’t mix well with the regular frequenters of vegan hotspots, my wife’s tried several times to enlighten me, but it’s never gonna happen, can’t keep mouth shut.

There’s probably more reasons, but I’ve bored myself now.

I don't know why McD get the bad press they do. don't they buy local ish and promote UK farming very well?
Nothing wrong with vegan food as far as taste etc goes but it doesn't really promote UK Ag the same way, if anything their marketing strategy is to do down UK Ag which itself is enough to put me off. I have spent my entire life producing fruit and veg and don't have the same chip on my shoulder as most livestock producers seem to have about vegan stuff.
Can't beat a McD breckie with coffee anyway.
