Noticed on a motoring forum some people bidding up the fake adds to huge amounts ,suppose it stops some other poor sod getting ripped off.

I was thinking that it would be a good idea if we all bid on any fake ads to stop an unsuspecting buyer getting ripped off say push the auction up to double what the item is worth, has anyone won a fake auction? do the scammers pursue it,suppose the only downside is that if it is a hacked account some poor sod gets a big commission bill .

To be honest, there are no bargains on ebay any more anyway. Just a lot of mickey mouse dealers wanting to much for there stuff:clown:. I know one chap that sells a lot of stuff on there, he gets most of his machinery from dealerships who want to clear there yards from trade ins.
Your better off buying private or from a main dealer, you might pay a little more, but at least you got some comeback.(y)

I have used e bay a fair bit over the years bought odds and ends and sold a wide range from cars down to old tat, I've had a few time wasters but not many and to date have been happy with my dealings with e bay.
If it looks wrong it probably is and buyer beware.

Particularly nice of him to put his watermark on your pictures.

Yep. And he's now relised it again:banghead:

Reporting stuff to ebay via there link is a load of crap. Your not allowed to give and details its all tick the box that most applicable but theres not actually a specific one for a fake advert or user account etc. I guess that would mean ebay admitting they have a flaw in there system allowing this to happen.

Definatly be putting water marks on any future machines i advertise. Bit late now but posted my own advert on ebay for it using orginal picture edited with water mark notifying of the fake.

watermark.ws is a good watermarking site. Free but you can only add 5 photos and watermark or add text etc. Download them empty it out and go again. Costs to store more than 5 pics.
