Yes they've been having a big clampdown since Christmas. If there's any hint you've ended an item early to sell outside eBay then it's a strike. 3 strikes and you're out!

Did you get warnings or not ?
Yes. First one I enquired about a machine someone had for sale. Sent him my number and asked him to ring me about it. He did ring me but I didn't buy it. He ended up selling it to someone else and ended it early. I still got a warning for attempting to deal outside eBay.

I've put a picture of my phone with the number showing :D clever or not :scratchhead:

Don't think there's an issue with putting your no in the listing.
My theory is that any item ended early with bids on it and the eBay robots scan through your messages and any keywords that relate to buy it now etc are flagged up.
Never had an issue when you put the item on at the price you want with a phone no in listing. It just gets ended with no bids

Wouldn't let me relist until I removed the number .

Am I right in thinking that if you put a classified ad on and sell it elsewhere, they don't chase you.
3 x JCB Telehandlers on at the weekend one was the exact same picture but £5k less, the other was a stolen picture from a dealer in Luton, and the last was a picture stolen from an add some 6 mths ago from Sussex area from memory. When I asked for address to view and picture of serial no. plate it all went quiet on both ads -- and removed by Ebay next day after I had reported it.
