eBay Scams

never dealt with him but the likes is there all right
He looks ok at a quick glance has plenty of feedback selling related stuff google the number and it all appears to come Back to same eBay account but golden rule would be go and see what you’re interested in before handing over cash if you can as just because someone is genuine it doesn’t mean what they are selling is any good

Bought a new Samsung mobile phone last week [competitively priced] paid via Pay Pal. Problem, it does not recognise my sim card, both phone and sim are on EE. So I contacted the seller who within minutes cancelled my payment and has said nothing about having the phone back...:scratchhead: Any ideas on getting the phone to work..?

Ref the above. Turns out it was a illegal 'blacklisted' phone. Apparently they are part of stolen consignments or insurance claim 'lost phones'. They are electronically switched off and can only be reconnected by the original registered owner. Many appear to be on sale... Bought another phone and all ok, but only after checking the IMEI 15 digit code first. Rather like checking HPI on a car.

Got an email yesterday, reportedly acting on behalf of eBay and PayPal, they had concerns about a seller I had browsed. Googled and deleted before opening seems he was a fisherman'!

Written by Charlotte Cunningham

Subsidies paid to farmers for protecting the environment lead to more stable incomes compared with payments based purely on the number of ha being farmed, according to a new study of farms in England and Wales. Charlotte Cunningham reports. The research, from Rothamsted Research, the University of Reading and Newcastle University, also shows that farmers shouldn’t put all their eggs in one basket, as those diversifying into a wider variety of crops or livestock receive more consistent year-to-year incomes – as do those who reduce their use of fertiliser and pesticides. Lead author and PhD student, Caroline Harkness said: “Farmers are facing increasing pressures due...
