eBay Scams

Hi, take a look on farmkit.com - we make sure that all sellers are genuine. I've rejected half a dozen lots (all tractors) from scammers so far this year. To be fair they're not that bright: foreign kit, "borrowed" photos and ridiculous prices as well as dodgy addresses - one bloke appeared to be living in Nandos in Bluewater Shopping Centre!

Dammit, posted that before had finished...

Sorry, raggydays.

Or do you mean that you don't like the way the website works?

Always happy to get feedback...

Cheers, Will

There didn't seem to be very much on it for sale. The website itself looked nice though

Thanks for the response Raggy, pleased that you liked the look of the site - we designed it to be very straight forward for people to use.

We only launched at the end of August last year so it's really a case of building something from scratch and realistically it's going to take 18 months+ to get established and get the volumes of kit on the site that some others have.

Please do take another look now and then when you have a minute though!

Cheers, Will

Lots of scammers out there - more advice, this time from farmingads.co.uk:

http://www.farmingads.co.uk/slpage.php?page=38

We have an approvals process for our auctions so no lots are submitted without us having a good look at them first - this will extend to our classified ads which we are launching over the next few weeks.

There are a lot of problems with the online marketplace currently due to a lack of rigour on the part of the website owners - we are striving to create a different and secure environment to buy and sell online by doing something pretty simple: we look at what is being offered, reject the obvious scams (ridiculous price / foreign kit / "stolen" images etc) and take the time to talk to sellers who are new to farmkit.

Cheers,

Will
