eBay Scams

Not ebay again but scammers at work elsewhere:

[email protected] tried to put a 2011 John Deere 7530 (reg AY11 AZT) in to next week's farmkit.com auction with a reserve of £18,000 (!).

We rejected it from the auction at our approvals stage but then found the same tractor on Farm Trader for £36,000...:

I called the seller's number on the above ad to let him know somebody was fraudulently trying to sell his tractor but he said he did not have anything on Farm Trader so suspect that ad might be a scam as well...what with the price and that (the tractor is in fact 2011 not 2001 as stated in the ad)

Same guy also tried it on as [email protected] again with fake addresses and phone numbers.

Our approvals process means farmkit.com is a scammer free zone - lucky for us they're pretty stupid so easy to spot...

Hi Monty,
A lot of it is dealer stock currently so tends to be in fairly good nick. We are "relaunching" the site towards the end of the month with classifieds as well as the weekly auctions and plan to have a "Spares and repairs" category as well as "Parts" in the classifieds.
Basically looking to copy the ebay model a bit closer but with the big advantage of offering only farm kit and screening what comes on to the site to protect users. Looking at ebay the trend seems to be cheaper machines going to auction whilst the better stuff is advertised in the classifieds. Looking to charge £1 a day for private sellers in the classifieds with a minimum 7 day insert to kind of mirror the traditional print ads in FW FG etc.
Anyway keep an eye on the site as I think it will be a big improvement in terms of what we're offering.
Cheers, Will
PS Think I might bid on that Chelsea tractor/spreader!
