Sharpy, I think it had better stay up with you good people in bonnie Scotland! Why? Someone from Scotland bought all the parts, and mine needs a gearbox! :) cant for the life of me find out who, but some setup doing sort of pony trecking on the Ecoriders.

Someone (I now know not shovelhands) uses them for soil sampling and said on here they were getting past their best. This allegedly is little used and not too dear and I thought may be of interest to them. Thats all.

I said that in jest Sharpy, The ecoriders were actually built in Scotland, Niarn? Inverness? My guess was that the company owners went there, probably for a massive set up grant. They then built a diesel quad ,which apparently was rubbish, frames folding etc. After going bankrupt, a massive ammount of unfinished bikes, parts engines etc turned up for sale on ebay, I was tempted, but didnt have the time to leave the farm. But was told that the lot was sold to someone in scotland. The Ecorider owners then went on to launch another diesel quad, now based in herefordshire, called the Diesel4ce, suppose to be british designed ,and the bees knees, Farmers weekly etc did reviews on it ,claiming it was good, Dealers were signed up to sell them, what they got were badly engineered Chinease rubbish, that justbroke down once used on a farm. Are there any Diesel4ce quads still going?

@Mounty I’d make your own. Would be very easy to put even bigger tyres on a Yamaha tw200 or just buy an engine, but some wheels and build your own.... where you are in Suffolk there are lots of small companies making bespoke bikes/cars! The guys at bury (crazy horse?) that do choppers I’m sure would turn their hand to a farmer fat boy

Hydrostatic would be the way to go, no gears ,shafts, chains, just a hydraulic motor in the wheel hub, even make a two wheel drive bike. Who could design the hydraulic bits needed?

I think you may have a point @Robt - Those TW200's or even a TW125 would do the job. Crazy Horse probably would build something, only needs to be a basic build.
@john432 nice idea about the hydrostatic, think that would be perfect. Several current motorbikes on the market will do the job but trying to get away from manual gear changes. In a 60 acre field we will stop at least 30 times and never ride more than 100mtrs without a stop. Hands full when we stop so can't be holding a clutch in.
The EcoRiders work well but they do go wrong and parts are the issue.

Just reading about these ecoriders and they look great, shame they aren't sold anymore.

Does anyone have a working one they would like to sell? I'm in the north west of Scotland.

Hydrostatic must be the way to go, imagine a mule, gator type buggy with no drive shafts, belts etc ,just a hydraulic motor turning each wheel. Cant find the video and build details for the 2 wheeler in the photo, but it was two wheel drive and had a Honda type petrol engine. The inventor was selling the hydraulic control manifold etc as a kit years ago.
