I remember some kind of edible silage clamp covering years ago.
A lorry came and blokes sprayed it on. The stuff looked like the insulation you see inside the roof of potato stores, workshops etc. It seemed ok but was a bit brittle and as the clamp settled it either left a void or it cracked and let air in. It was like the stuff cheesy wotsit and quaver crisps are made from.
I also remember a firm coming to a clamp we were just finishing and spraying potato slurry all over the top to seal it. It still needed a sheet on the ramp though.
