Considering EFA greening for this autumn. What have people grown in the mix / works well? It would be going in after SB so would have a short window for growth.

I thought the greening element was shelves a couple of years ago. I still grow cover crops bit not to the EFA rules.

I put in Mustard and oats. Not good if osr in rotation though.
Got sheep and cattle grazing it at moment.

Yes. Just discs, take st bar off, done same for last 3-4 years.
Some of it was near flowering that was sown early. 3rd week August.

Mustard and radish,quick pass with the vaderstad after s barley and wheat,sheep going on after the 15th.

I used to sow raddish and oats but wasn’t seeing any benefit to the soil the last 2 years , wet autumns didn’t help. Now as long as something is in by October I’m happy
After winter barley would be ideal

So get paid to grow Green Manure, which is a bit different from what your talking about but I just thought I'd post some pictures of it.
Sown 4/5th August pictures / video taken 23rd November.
Seed bought from Murray Duguid Ltd at Oldmeldrum, speak to Sandy Duguid, top bloke, top firm he'll give you good ideas and mix anything you want.
My mate buys grass seed from them and he put me onto them, a real first class service.
Maybe your already a customer ?

In my opinion green cover crops only benefit the guys selling the seed.
They've deliberately made the list of eligible crops so that there's nothing useful you can graze.
Surely some lambs strip grazing a brassica will be more beneficial to the soil than a woody Mustard plant.

It seems to be an in think with the carbon audits as well. I can’t help but think we would use more carbon sowing it than we would capture.
