Heard a story on the radio on the likely hood of getting 6 double Yorkers in a half dozen box.
Even though the incidence of double Yorkers is low, someone can correct me on this, it happens in young laying hens at certain age etc and since the eggs will have come from the same shed of same age birds and sorted to similar sizes the odds of it happening was surprisingly high considering it happened so infrequently in all the eggs laid.

Usually graded out, and sold for a higher price. Reckon you must have got a box by accident.... Doubt if 6 would fit in a standard box thinking about it, used to get special trays for them.

Doesn't have to be large eggs though. Daughter had some pullets that were laying double yolkers whilst still very small eggs.

I went to a local burger van and asked for The Breakfast in a Bun, the lass said 'do you want your egg yolks bursting'. 'Yep' I replied. 'Thought so' she said 'you don't look like you could be trusted with a runny yolk'. My wife nearly dropped her cup of tea and asked how the lass knew me so well?
It's right enough tho' I can get egg yolk down my front with a knife and fork let alone a filled roll.

It's not just egg yolk with me. Brown sauce on a bacon roll always seems to find it's way onto whatever I am wearing. Mrs Beowulf has stopped buying me white shirts because of it.

Tomato sauce with pasta dishes is the same, the kids joke that I should have to eat my pasta with a bib and a plastic spoon.

I bought a doz large eggs from the chicken farm next to @Mickeymatbro a few years ago when passing there on silage and 6 double yolkers:)and they were big eggs too(y)
