EGNOS satellite changed

SBAS stands for Space Based Augmentaion System. The (free) corrections come from a geostationary satellite in other words.

EGNOS is simply the European incarnation or version if you like of SBAS.

The North American SBAS version is called WAAS and there are others around the world. They are all compatible, so the same receiver can be used on different SBAS systems around the world.

Now if you switch off SBAS then you are switching off EGNOS on your receiver. Are you sure it’s “working” as you say?

Thank you. I have turned SBAS back on and I noticed there is also a SBAS + tab. Do I have that turned on too. Thanks again.

The Trimble docs around the SBAS+ setting are pretty hopeless to be honest. The one line explanation in the manuals says: "This feature uses uncorrected satellites in addition to SBAS."

In other words; if you don't check/enable SBAS+ the receiver will ignore GLONASS satellites (as they don't feature in the corrections from SBAS/EGNOS only GPS satellites do) when calculating its position.

So even though the GLONASS satellites will be uncorrected they still do have a benefit in making the overall position solution more robust.

Hello, i have problem now with my ag3000 my datatronic 4 with agi 4 shows me that using egnos 120 and my gnss status is not green now but yellow. It is possible to change somewhere egnos sattelite? Or i stucked with this 120? :/

I was wondering about this

One of my tractors was on egnos, which wouldn't work due to the above, when I switched the rtk on the other day the problem went away.

Maybe wrongly I thought rtk used egnos with a correction so why does the rtk work? And do I still need to adjust the settings to include the new satellite to make the rtk more robust?

RTK only requires the “raw” satellite observations at the rover (tractor) + the “corrected” feed from the base (which is a function of the base reference position and observing the same set of satellites as the rover) being sent to the rover to function. There are no other external dependencies.

You’d only use EGNOS as a fallback when there was no RTK correction available.

Today my ag3000 c1000 shows that i using egnos 120 and 126 but still my 8 gnss satelite icon only yellow, and i can't use autosteer only in manual drivin by line. When trying to engage it drops 4012 error code. Steering subsystem is not detected. Check to ensure that steering valve is powered on. My faster steering option on my mf7726 2015yr not work too. Location Lithuania.

Neither PRN120 nor PRN 126 will work now.

They have both been changed to “test” state, therefore they are not “active” (operational) and you will not receive ANY correction whatsoever from them (with an ordinary receiver).

You need to change your active SBAS/EGNOS satellites to PRN123 and PRN136 to receive EGNOS correction now.

I suggest if you’re still having trouble making changes to the EGNOS satellite settings for your receiver, you either reach out to your local dealer tech or contact the online AGCO Fuse team at [email protected]

Anyone know how to stop EGNOS PN120 giving no signal on a Topcon AGI-4 running through datatronic terminal on MF7724.

Can see PN120 and PN126 but as others are saying PN120 is in test mode but it id as if the AGI-4 is picking up and prioritising PN120. System is now bit useless with this glitch.

Fuse agco reply me that.

It sounds like the problem will be fixed with a firmware update. Version 4.1K12p15 or newer will have added support for the new EGNOS satellite PRN 123, and will allow the user to choose which EGNOS satellites to use.

My version 4.1K12p6 in receiver info. I asked if my dealer should update my agi firmware on c1000, now waiting for reply. But i think there will be possible to fix this if it will be possible to update that.

Spoke with LH Agro yesterday, usual helpfulness! Got told EGNOS is down for maintenance, don’t know when it will be back up. From what I’ve now read looks like the old PRN120 won’t be back up! Another chance to sell an RTK module.

I’ve had no real need to try EGNOS on my AGI-4 based VarioGuide receiver (since the change in active PRNs) but it may be the case as with @Gnytasis receiver that your AGI-4 may require a firmware update to be able to select PRN123 (as well as PRN136).

If they’re hard coding satellite PRNs into their receiver firmware they need to employ better software development engineers.

Will see if it’s any better by Monday. Not holding my breath. If it can’t be updated the things pretty useless at 1.5m accuracy. Like to think I can do a better job than that hopefully.

We have 2 Topcon x30 and agi4 (no rtk). Stopped working about 10 days ago and having only just discovered this thread I now know why!
Does it matter if you enable all satellite option numbers ? If you enable 'autonomous' it seems to select glonass, but correction figure reads about 1.1m
Is it just trial and error and use lowest figure below the correction icon?
Sorry for all the questions!! not an expert! (clearly!)

Been switching between ghost EGNOS and autonomous which adds GLONASS satellites in but as you say it makes little difference. Current accuracy on mine is 122cm. You might be able to tell it to ignore PRN120 with x30 as you have more functionality than with the MF terminal I have.

Quality advice! Jesus wept, these are supposedly professionals.
I’ll defend my old company. Did they sell the unit? I guess not. What do you pay for Egnos? Can they control egnos, no. So my advice is they were only being honest in saying they couldn’t help. If it’s agco software they can’t touch it. .... sorry to be harsh but that’s life . You don’t buy a Seat then call Audi for warranty and expect them to help
