Eid stick reader for pregnancy scanning

This year would like to get the scanning information on all stock what is the best stick reader for recording scanning data quickly? It's going to need a keypad for data entry and it will need to work with agri Webb software so I imagine that limits it trutest xrs2 or a Gallagher?

Was thinking of doing the same but not sure if it will be quick enough to not hold up the scanner. This year I’ll do it a few days after scanning when they’re back in for sorting, fingers crossed I’ll be more confident for next year and do it at scanning.

I use a Psion to record scanning data on Shearwell Farmworks. If somebody else was marking/pushing up, I could record as we went along if that’s all I was doing, otherwise it would slow the job.
I have them back round again after, or the next day, instead, and tie it in with another job & drawing out empties.

Its the issue I'm having with Agriwebb Rob it can't be linked to the Psion at the moment, when it can be I will sign up!

If I have enough hands at scanning I record scanning data while stood over the crate but tags need to be all readable and not missing I usually miss about 3-5%. Will put data in when I run them back round to copper and sort triplets off this year it seems a lot easier

Snap !
My scanner has asked if i would pay extra for the data to be collected automatically---answer is yes
This i think involves him having an eid reader linked to his machine---he could then send me the data by email/bluetooth??
Again depends on having all the sheep perfectly tagged

I do a bit while I'm scanning, to be done properly it needs to a bit slower and going forward I'll charge extra for it, At this stage I'm going to use a trutest XRS2 stick reader and a tablet with Stock manager software on it. ( https://www.stockmanager.co.nz/ ) this will enable me to email the file. We're developing a counter box which will enable me to record easily up to 10 ranks!!! o_O:rolleyes:o_O
With current technology it does require a dedicated person to do the tag reading so it does also add an extra labor cost as well as the extra scanners charge.

We use Alflex rs420 stick reader and @iLivestock app on ipad. they have a dedicated scanning screen which means you just have to scan the ear tag and enter scanning result on ipad. Just like you would when weighing lambs

Look's like this :), it's better with EID and but this is on visual records.

connecting to the our xr 5000 and wand works most of the time. the odd miss read or. tag missing is a pain tho hard to over come that
a panel reader. would be a lot better stronger reading and bigger read area

Workabout technology pro is very old and not suited to link to anything modern. They run on an old operating system, have a very old web browser which won't open many moder sites and the wifi protocol is such that it is very difficult if not impossble to get it to link to a modern wifi router. agriwebb is android and ios only. no modern software developer would wish to go back to writing code for a workabout pro. so i would think if you wait until agriwebb runs on a workabout pro you'll be waiting forever. That's my thoughts. we've dropped the workabout pro from our sales pages on web. Only supply now on special order almost always if someone has a workabout pro and it gets damaged beyond economic repair.
