Barely 42% turnout around here.
Lot P' eed off as lot of " turncoat Conservatives" stood under the guise of independents and got peoples backs up.
Lot of them lost anyhow, so out.

Wonder who bothered to vote this year?
Totally disallusioned with it.
You vote one party locally and the other party runs local Authority Council, then dictated to by here in Wales ,The Welsh Assembly and that Party, then National Government Policies with another Party.
All working at "logger heads" to each other ALL THE TIME.
I voted for an independent candidate

I voted for the Plaid candidate, because I know her personally and she is a decent woman who does what she says. Wouldn't touch Plaid Cymru with a f^cking bargepole in an assembly or UK election though - bunch of delusional leftist, separatist nutters.

And, for the umpteenth time... they're not the party of Wales, they're just a party in Wales.

We didn’t have an election. I probably wouldn’t have voted since the Tory would definitely get in. From an English perspective I cannot really identify any action from any English party that will keep the union together. There is a danger that the separatists will get their way IMO. We “believe” that Scotland and NI will leave and it doesn’t matter, with that attitude from the English surely Wales could follow?

Can't write for others, but my own experience is that other than a very, very few virtual nutters, most people in England like the Union and don't want any harm to come to it.

From what I know of NI, the overwhelming reason for wanting separation there is sectarian; in Scotland Labour being useless gave the SNP a boost, and despite their utter incompetency in government, they have maintained it, though family tell me that it is starting to slip bit by bit - I hope a decent replacement for Ruth Davidson is found.

Here in Wales the voting is partly properly political, partly 'tradition'. Many on this side - the West - vote Plaid because it's 'Welsh', despite them disliking socialism. Over by Cardiff and in the Valleys, they vote Labour, because they do... :banghead:

Other than a very, very few - and most of them are very young (which is why Plaid wants votes for 16 year olds) - I don't know anyone who would vote for independence here. Certainly I have relatives who are active Plaid members, but who want a 'stronger' voice for Wales inside the Union, not a break from it.

I've pinned a few Plaid politicos on the matter a few times, and they entirely come to pieces when the economy is examined - it really is even more farcical that for Scotland, and only a bit ahead of NI; that's why Plaid only really raises its head on 'social' matters. If there ever were to be a referendum for independence here, a public debate would see Plaid made a laughing stock.
