How are they going to reject momentum? Momentum ate in charge and have the party by the doodahs ,rebbecca long bailey is and will be the next leader ,jeremy and john will make sure of it,and she is just as bad
If they dont change, they will be in the wilderness for years. There will effectively be no opposition.
Into the wilderness then like the Michael Foot era.......

England's is NOT a socialist country. A socialist party is, therefore, an irrelevance in England. In the past their Scottish and Welsh seats helped them gain power. The Scottish seats are now history. Their Welsh seats are no longer solid.

About right. That’s why “New Labour” got in as they more centrist. JC and his crew took the party back into the left hand corner and that’s what’s caused this collapse at the polls to happen. We have long memories and the prospect of heading back into the 70’s was a step too far. I see JC is clinging to wreckage in order to try to ensure his movement continues without him. They will not be an in effective opposition and out of power for years in such a case I would say! For sure the result is like a second referendum on Brexit and the people have spoken. However there is trouble ahead with Scotland for sure and what a shame that’s so.

So, how is everyone feeling after the big vote ?

It's not the outcome I was looking for and am curious as to thoughts from the field..
A bleak and terrible day as far as i am concerned. The only good thing that may come out of it is Corbyn and Momentum might get swept away.Jess Phillips has the tone about right.Traditional Labour in the North who have voted for Johnson have made the biggest mistake. They will find out over the next 5 years.

So what we don’t have pr or ever likely to,you have lost twice now so get over it and move on
I posted it as an example of what the party representation might be like

As usual you've put your size 10's in as it shows how Brexit Party voters have no representative currently and could have had 13 MP's

If you read any of my posts I've accepted the result of the Referendum. It still doesn't stop me holding folks feet to the fire

What difference does it make,we don’t have pr!,imagine what the result would be if you gave 2 votes for remainers.Boris won and won well within the election system we have and frankly that’s all that matters

Well, whether it's the results we wanted or not, it's done and we have a majority government once more. Here's to getting business done again, wherever that may take us. The next 3-6 months are going to be interesting.

Brussels have said that PR or some other more democratic voting system would be a prerequisite for ever joining the EU again. :scratchhead:

Actually we were not offered full PR, only distorted alternative versions. Both Tories and Labour are terrified of PR as it would deny them a straight majority in almost every election and they would have to learn to work in coalitions.

We will see whether the majority Boris now has is good for farming when the Agriculture and Environment bills restart in the new year.
