Electric fence enegisers

Strip grazing the fields here throughout the season, i use a couple of Rutland 9v enegisers, an esb 137 and a very old 127.
I've read to keep away from the button switched Rutland energizers, as they don't last. But as Rutland have been taken over I'm not sure if the new range.
I've come acros the Gallagher 9v energizers, they come with a 7 year warranty, and are competitively priced, are they any good ?

Be careful will Gallagher we had six units running and had a freak lightning storm last year and the fencer units are very sensitive to it and stopped working, warranty dosnt cover water or weather damage I was told. Have purchased from kiwi kit now replacement units.

Buy a solar fencer, very little need to change batteries.

Google the name of your energiser coupled with the word 'repair'. I was lucky enough to find a Youtube video of a repair of mine. A 2p resistor and it is back in business after half an hour! Apparently, the old ones are usually easy to repair, just be aware those capacitors can deliver a lethal shock.

Ive a gallagher s10, solar energiser
Small and easily carried, with a kick like a mule, more than adequate for strip fences
