Electric price, WTF

It's quite interesting seeing how much domestic energy we save by going to be at 10pm rather than 12pm. Although I did catch Mrs teslacoils putting towels in the drier rather than on the line to "make them fuffier". Will be sneaking fabric conditioner in the shopping next.

Ours went from 15 to 32p earlier this year. As I knew it was coming I’d been briefing wife and kids to start turning things off with idle threats if they didn’t.

After the switch I walked around with cable snips and a ruler. After A few threats with the tv power lead between snips, and some smacked knuckles I’m pleased to report consumption has dropped a bit!

They now turn the cloakroom light off when I’m in there though 😂😡

Fabric conditioner is bad for towels apparently. It allows the knit of the cotton to loosen and come undone.

Cut the plug off the drier, they don’t know how to replace them. ;)

Be firm with them, it’s the only way they’ll learn.

It will take decades before Hinkley B is up and running, as they still have not got the prototype working in France, nor the second one in Finland. They should have gone molten salt, thorium and burned up a lot of high level waste in the system

The one in Finland begins operation this year I think.

You can burn up the waste in some designs without involving thorium. Uranium is still so dirt cheap I don't see much need for thorium to be involved to be honest.

What happened to all this wind and solar, 'electricity will be dirt cheap' thinking?
I’m having this discussion with the Scottish Power complaints department at this very moment, for their refusing to honour an online quote.
They’re saying that the cost of electricity has gone up, and my reply is that the blowing wind has had no cost increase, they’re profiteering twice over from subsidised generation and fossil fuels higher prices.
They’re dragging their heels, I’m taking the quote issue to OFGEM at the earliest opportunity. SP really are despicable.
