Electric snacker options?

So now ive ended up with a chapman snacker after trying others. Couple things when i set it to drop 5 times the first time is always 4 drops so 10 drops actually 9 drops and so on. Presume this cant be normal?

Hopfully i just need to master my forward speed as too fast it leaves feed in rows, to slow and there nice neat drops but too close.

Our electronics supplier loaded the wrong program onto some of the control boards which counts 1 short, if you call the office when you've time in the week we will swap out for a unit which is correct.

Thanks, James

I had one it was nearly always wrong by one then packed up working went back to manufacturer came back and still wasn't right so dealer brought me another out that was still wrong dealer was told if its consistently 1 wrong it was ok. That's stayed as long as it took for dealer to get me a logic one

Great. Its a couple years old but like new. Would you still swap? Is it the complete box or just insides i need to change?
If it's easier for you we can send up a replacement front panel from the control box (which contains the circuit board), so then it can be swapped without having to remove the snacker wiring loom from the ATV. Send me a PM with your details or call the office and we can sort.

I don't know the specific case raised by Fendt515profi but to provide a bit of background to what I think caused the issue - a while back we changed to a new type of sensor and supplier which had a different effective sensing distance than the one we used previously. In order to maintain both backwards and forwards compatibility on the control boxes we had to have a longer delay in the sensing 'window' to allow for the two sensing distances on the two types of sensor which manifests itself as a small delay (about 0.5 seconds) before the numbers on the screen update after each drop. This resulted in a slight change to the circuit board program to ensure the correct number of drops were being made with either type of sensor, which was all tested and approved into production. Without going into the exact details our electronics supplier loaded the wrong revision of said program onto some of the boards which wasn't picked up until they were out in the field and it took us a while to figure out what was going on. It sounds like your dealer has resolved now anyhow, but I just like to provide a bit of background to what I think happened.

My original snacker was the one that the swivel hitch pulled out of cause the weld on washer to the tube hadn't penetrated both. And the twin axle swivel tube snapped so you had to send the single axle mounts while you built some up graded twin units I had the original control box and got the new one.

Just to update on my earlier posts. Tried a couple of electic snackers and decided on a chapman. Dealer near me had a 2 year old chapman so we were able to get it. When i was calibrating it i noticed when you pre set it to drop 5 times it only gave 4 drops. Posted about it on here and within hours Chapman machinery were looking for my address and 2 days later i recieved a new control box. For them to replace it of a used machine i thought was exceptional service.

I was slightly woried about needing to preset the drops in 5's but you can easily drop upwords in single counts or drop it in preset 5s and pause before dropping the last few. So all in all a lot of thought before we bought a new snacker for the new buggy but ended well. ?

Good to see logic have a bit of competiton. They are just down the road from here and we have bought loads from them over the last few years but have always found them a very unhelpful company in general.

Having this same issue, how can we contact the office and get a replacement board?

We'll need the old board back - if you can send down to us along with your contact details, we'll check it and send out a replacement free of charge on a next day service for you.

If that doesn't work for you, give us a call next week when we're back (2nd Jan) and we'll work out a plan

Thanks

James
