Me and a friend are working on a electric tractor. 1200w drive motor, 1100w solar panel. Speed is 1km/h It follows a GPS path with less than 2cm error. We have used it this year for potatoes, carrots and more. It plants, hills and clean weeds.

Might want to move the front axles out so it’s not trampling the spud row. Great idea and we will be seeing more of this happening in developing countries where fuel is limited and farming is smaller scale. Elon musk might be having you on his payroll soon.

Interesting that you are managing that in Sweden. I would have expected powering vehicles direct from panels mounted on them to be limited to places much closer to the equator. Also interesting that you are managing to do something practical with a tractor that has a fraction of the power of an electric kettle.

Great project, I'm guessing you are getting away with the low power requirement due to the low speeds. Since the panel output nominally equals the motor requirement I'm guessing it should run for free as along as the sun is shining. That's almost as good as the efficiencies quoted by the Fendt drivers. ;)
