Looks an interesting concept.
Could add more battery on the back plate & I’d suggest a 1t front linkage battery which you could leave charging and swap.
Will struggle to be a substitute for the power from a 400lt diesel fuel tank!

Good if your driving it and paid by the hour resting for it to charge.
Surely the front weight should be a battery , then you can swap over to another , 2 minute job

Speaking to a tractor manufacturer guy recently and they have done a desktop analysis of electric tractors and it would be £10,000s more and weight 10 tonne more for an 8 hr electric 200HP tractor. Its a non starter with current battery tech. How many farms have got a power supply big enough to recharge??, especially in the main grain growing areas of the world.

I don’t know why everyone expects the future electric tractors to be monolithic beasts with 14 hour range.

Is the future not the hydrogen based tractor same as nh has been developing and iirc jcb aswel

To some extent yes and another is no. Hydrogen is extremely difficult to store. Then you have to ask the question on how it’s made.

Is it not just a matter of having a big gas tank on site? I thought it can be made from a digestor?

It wants to leak out of everything, and when it does it’s suggested it’s effects are worse than the pollutants from conventional combustion.
it’s a very small particle, storage involves being pressured to 10000 psi.

And needs a lot of energy to compress it to those pressures. The tanks have to be quite small and very strong.
Would put more weight behind synthetic diesel/hvo type fuels. Hydrogen is a pain in the arse to store, handle, refill etc so why not adopt existing tech. Not saying they'd be without problems but pouring/pumping a pretty inert liquid is a more attractive proposition than handling H2 gas at high pressures

Electric tractors ffs. Why are they needed? There’s more fuss if airline pilots strike than if a countries farmers strike. I know which causes more unnecessary CO2.
