Electric use

Ok guys, on our new farm we have a smart meter and I am struggling to believe it. It reckons we are using 120 to 140 kWh a day to milk 250 cows and cool 6000 litres a day of milk. We have a variable speed vacuum pump and heat exchangers. Seems a lot to me.
how does that compare to you guys?

I‘ve got a similar problem. No stock, one house and farm buildings. Nothing except cctv and a couple of lights on during the day. We’re getting bills of about £800 per month.
British gas want 250 quid to come and check the meter. 😡😡

Doesn’t look too bad, 47k units for the year assuming constant milk volume, quite a bit less if you’re a seasonal calver.
2.1m l, electric 16ppu, gives a cost of .35ppl.

Got old farm buildings 6 houses and campsite toilets with electric showers costing £800-900, can’t remember the unit price but yours seems very dear unless your heating is all electric?

New dairy milking 150 x3 on robots is 1200ish in the winter 800 with 80kw of solar panels in the summer.

Yes 2 robots just under mil litres per year.
Just bare in mind i have very little in the way of labour apart from my calf feeder for 4 months while busy calving 3 hours a morning and i don't have to get out of bed and milk them every morning or afternoon's either.
Not saying either is right or wrong but if £750 a month is the price for the above i'm not complaining too much.
