Electricity prices

Just had quotes for one of the meters and am staggered by the price increases.This meter only has an annual usage of approx 7500 units.Been quoted 17.8 p/unit and 25 p/day.
Currently on 14p and it was'nt many years ago we were sub 10p.
Everyone else finding similar ?

Its crazy,isn't it.Its around 2p higher than a quote for the same meter about a month ago.

Power retailers go their fingers burnt when lockdown meant they couldnt sell the electric they had bought forward, so now they want to claw some money back.
Futures of govt agreed nuclear energy prices dont help either

had a guy turn up randomly from direct business solutions, been every day this week so far trying to get me on a 5 year fixed price contract, Gave me a price today of 22.42p day rate and 16.58p night with a standing charge of 74p per day. seems mega high but i haven't rung round suppliers yet as my current 2yr contract doesn't end till september.

The vast majority of “energy suppliers” are only brokers - Very few actually have their own generating assets.
