Electricity tariffs/Prices

They ran off with the meter when nobody was here, did not leave a reading, then we challenged the bill ( 6 months later) they had lost the meter, took them to court and lost !
Crikey , I did wonder if thats what happened . My son was sharp enough to take his own picture of the lad changing the meter , (which took a day or so as he hadnt got the right bits ) who had taken some of his own !! (They did send us a pic of our meter I recall,so did they send you a picture of the wrong one ?? Seems like they took the pee big style !!)

Currently having issues with British gas also. They seem to be trying it on with meter readings trying to charge total combined day and night use as the day time and the day time as night time. They seem to think we owe them £9k when we are approx £1.5k in credit and took out a 3k direct debit after promising not to before sorting the matter out. After emailing them pics of the meter readings last November and numerous official meter readings since we're still not sure they have sorted the matter out yet

Also years ago when we were with them they reneged on a 5yr fixed contract and tried to charge more since I guess they thought we wern't paying enough. Bunch of crooks!

I have been told that if you use over your estimated useage ( that you gave them when you signed the contract) they will charge more for the overuse ,probably understandable !! So dont underestimate

Thanks for the link. They finally sorted the meter readings out however they are back to thier old tricks and have reneged on the price again:banghead: The consequences of getting a cheap 2yr contract, a cheap rate that they were very keen on us signing up to. Last time they pulled that trick they eventually caved in and extended it an extra year at an even more ridiculously cheap rate so expecting similar again. Will use the ombudsman as a last resort but they generally give up when they realise they are in the wrong and don't have a leg to stand on. We never underestimate either Mr Mackay, British gas are just a bunch of robbing cowboys. I've heard from someone else that was overcharged and they got a 10% discount as a fine to the provider after the ombudsman got involved

I wonder how many people that just pay up without realising/checking the bills or businesses with secretaries that just pay bills regardless and the owners haven't a clue about being ripped off or those that knowingly pay after getting threatening letters or don't want the hassle(n)

Quite a hike 👎 ring round but not looking good. on line compare around 18.3 p/kWh 25p/day .. but they point out I’d be saving £230 a yr . Err no it’s 4 p more (advertising tosh )
