Electricity to new yard

Didn't ask for any specific size, may have mentioned that I don't want to spend to much...

I'm probably best speaking to an electrician about the KVA/amp stuff as I've no idea what it all means tbh. Generator is certainly tempting at those prices - no one seems to think they're too expensive though?
I bought a second hand JCB/Kohler 40KVA 3 phase genny a while ago for around £4k. It does the job, but having to keep it full of juice & servicing is a pain compared to having a fixed supply that's just there all the time when you need it - I just couldn't justify £15+k for the amount of use I have for it.

had a chap out today from Western Power to inspect a pole, (10 yearly) I asked if he was going to inspect the other 2 poles in same field, No was the answer, probably have to come out next year for one and the year after for the other. he said very few organisations can waste money like they do.

Well mine for a similar distance, 45kva 3 phase including transformer upgrade and 10 foot of road crossing is 12.5k +vat. 5k of that is for the road crossing 2.5k of the 5k is for closing the road !.

unfortunately I still can’t afford it so I’m running off a PTO 3 phase genny which isn’t ideal but will have to do !.
If you really want / need the power i would snap there hand of as very cheap and find someway to finance that is a bargin. I have been quoted 120k for 100kva 3 phase for about 750m run through my land with me digging trench and putting the ducts in. Also 15K to take another overhead line under ground 150m again me doing all the trench and duct.

You should try a new company called Serconnect. They are now allowed to compete against the big electric companies

Should take a look at Serconnect. Smaller Electric companies Can now do the connections work like the main electric boards and obviously cheaper.

It seems a terrible situation that the power providers have such a monoply that they have to dig the trench, supply the cable, back fill etc etc why is this?
Why can’t power providers say , you can do the job , as long we specify spec of cable required and you dig trench and backfill to our specs, and you pay us just to connect cable to new transformer??
Smaller companies can now do the work that the supply companies can. Check Serconnect website out.

I want something similar to you and not far away either. Price is horrific but I think I’d do it all the same.
Just reckon that £18k connection adds £40k to the value and think it money well spent.
Should look at Serconnect, smaller electric companies can do the same as the big suppliers. In fact. The big companies use sub contractors.

@SERCONNECT ,If your quotation for a job is accepted, what are your companies terms as regards payment for the project ?
I see Serconnect has only been in business since February 2020.
