They will never be able to have genuine free speech, until everyone who posts is freely identifiable and can be chased through the courts for slander. This of course will never happen

Censorship/de-platforming. Look, its their website/platform. When you sign up to such things, there is a list of small print. If you agree to abide by their rules, you are good to go. If you do not, they will stop you using their platform. Most websites or systems are the same. There are stiff laws for companies who allow their platforms to be used to incite illegal acts or for posting illegal content. Get with the program- there is no free speech on twitter, it's not a country or state, it's a company who provide their platform for you to use, free of charge, provided you stay within their own little rules.

If you don't like that or can't stay within the limits they require, don't use their service- use someone else's or start your own? It's not rocket science these days.
Agree broadly, that it is their platform, their rules etc
That's why I didn't use previously. I might use more now, as apparently there is a lot more free speech thanks to Mr musk.

Banning a democratically elected president on the basis of hate speech and spreading misinformation whilst simultaneously allowing the Taliban, Mohammed Bin Salman, and Vladimir Putin’s accounts to remain open for starters.

For a social media platform, it makes no difference if you are a politically elected person or entity or whatever. You want to use these services, you have to click a button that says you agree with their terms of use. The difference with Drumpf is that he couldn't. I bet the Taliban somehow manage to. Of course, there is no guarantee that the twitter account for any of the entities you mention is actually genuinely used by the person or people in question. Nothing to stop you making up a Drumpf account on there if you were so afflicted.

There is no free speech on internet platforms, just as you cannot stand in the middle of Times square and call on people to perpetrate terror attacks on Americans in the name of whatever cause you have chosen. It is illegal in most countries for someone to incite racial hatred or acts of terror, and rightly so- I think we can agree on that.

Slander and defamation etc are of fudge all consequence in the scheme of things but it is interesting that the British and American courts treat these very differently.
