If nothing else the EU 27 are now being forced to discuss brexit rather than shrug it off as a matter of little concern. Being pushed into thinking a little more seriously about the effect of an extension may start to focus minds on the effect of the eventual leaving, something which I feel has been missing up until now.

For all those bleating how unfair the EU is treating the UK in this fiasco of fiascos just remember this, the EU didn’t vote leave - we did, the EU can’t stop us walking out the door, we simply need to do it, the EU 27 all signed Mays WA and our parliament rejected it, and last night it was the Uk who went back (again) asking for another extension and the EU granted it. Complain all you like but vent your anger at our own parliament and politicians whilst simultaneously reminding yourselves these are the people who are going to “take back control”, “make a success of Brexit” and “deliver on the world stage”.

“What do we want? We don’t know! When do we want it? NOW!”

What a laughing stock we have become.

Well put, runny egg.

And when you write "We have had enough of "dancing to their tunes" for too long." at least have the honesty to say 'dancing to OUR tunes' if you are referring to our membership of the EU. And if you simply mean since the referendum it's not dancing to anyone else's tunes it's dancing to a badly remembered nationalistic tune from sometime in the last couple of centuries.
