Also immigration has been in the news in the last few weeks, the government is looking to reduce the number of people they let in so some of the visa categories are tightening their requirements.
I think they may be looking more at other countries rather than the UK, but I believe the UK is tightening up on the number of Kiwi's it gives visa's to so there could be a little revenge somewhere.

Get yourself a working holiday visa, got to be under 30 I think then you can cruise around and find work in different areas, find an area you like and build up a few contacts. Unless its changed a work visa would tie you to one job, so if you didn't like it you would be stuck there. A working holiday visa means you can just move on.

Thanks @kiwi pom

That was kind of the plan but with the teaching option prob more likely to be in one place..find a good place that suits both and then head out to different places when we can.

How's this thread been going ;)

I might know of a guy who flies a topdresser... which is as good a way to get up there as most.
Big wind shear on the Catlins ranges on the wrong day  but good view around here (y)

Go to twizel and just pitch up at the airfield and someone will take u up.
My pal once got a free ride on the air ambulance after a German tourist forgot what side of the road to drive on
Is that "Pukaki Airport"? If so I could swing by on my way South.

ideally I'd like to hitch a ride out and back across a good lump of South Island and don't mind paying for it but want to see the scenery low-level :D

We got caught in a big downdraft once when I was getting a lift back to the loader- actually hit the tussocks hard enough to roll them out of the ground with the undercarriage of the Fletcher. I didn't need to be told to cinch up the belts after that experience.
But young James is a pretty sensible pilot. I'll tee him up and if the weather's good...

Or drive through New Plymouth.. :nailbiting::nailbiting:
It's like BTCC in the 'Naki:whistle::whistle:
Most of the Ag pilots down here are pretty safe (I won't comment on "Hap" Renton) but the terrain doesn't lend itself to bouncing down

Always found NP and Taranaki to be pretty laid back, although the turning right in front of each other is just silly!

Got a few weird looks first few times I passed a car and turned right behind it lol!
