Tell me how good your McCormick is then without mentioning other brands.

Bet you can’t.
The mccorrmick x7 is a good tractor though. The zf tranny and fpt engine is a good combination. But imho they are to expensive to go buy 1 to then take a hit when goin to sell it. If ther gonna ever sell any amount of them they need to be a fair chunk cheaper than a massey case nh jd valtra. But as for product quality ther wouldnt be much wrong with it

Case is the same as nh and steyr good luck with it. A nice story is that case is started by McCormick

Had a Landini 7-175, Nice comfy powerful tractor.

Downsides were the rear hitch and hydraulic unlocks you had to go through every time you started it up, front suspension gave up ag 3.5K hours, cab was cream white...worst colour you could have when working with black oil and grease ? looked at changing to a new one, price was similar to the Case, however the Tech in the Case was far more superior eg being able to run every thing through one screen on the armrest, headland management system also far superior, as is the layout of the cab and sensibility of the controls I personally found better.

Case was NOT started by McCormick in any way shape or form at all! Case was started by a fella Jerome Increase Case in the 1800s started making steam engines i think, then built the first diesel powered tractor (could be wrong about that) then from there bought several other brands (DB, IH etc) eventually merged with NH to create CNH (subsidiary of fiat?) Now creating in my opinion the best engine on the market.

Not here to bash any make or model, they all have pros and cons and it comes down to personal choice in my opinion. However I will not stand and watch someone spout utter tripe such as "McCormick started Case". When in fact Modern McCormicks/Landinis are derived mostly from the Doncaster built Case Mx series which McCormick acquired in the late 90s/early 2000s?

I’m sure you’re right. I’m not knocking McMac or Landini, Infact you will find posts of mine where I comment on their much improved quality on tractors I’ve seen.

Salesmen running down other brands boils my urine though.

It is a pity this has turned into a spat.
I would be genuinely interested to know how anyone who had actually put down 60 or 70 or so of their own thousands, to buy one of these tractors in the 140hp bracket had got on with it, and especially how they got on at trade-in time.
The OP is right about the 6000/10 series Deeres, but I wouldnt be buying one of the new ones either.

I think ul find the the ji case company was started by jerome case and then it was bought over by tenneco who also bought out david brown who then in turn bought out internationals agri division. The new case tractors today is basicly a fait derivative and nothin to do with mccorrmick in any way. If ur lookin to argue at least get ur facts right
I think he meant 'start' as in starting a dead tractor. :ROFLMAO:
