Endurance wind power declare bankruptcy

Hi
What a shame that Amber Rudd's announcement in July 2015 has now caused the possible demise of yet another Renewable Energy Company. The Conservative party have a huge amount to answer for- but as usual they will walk off into the sunset with no recriminations.
I am really sorry that Endurance Windpower in Canada have got into difficulties. I can confirm also that as far as we know there have however been no actual announcements from the company as to the situation.
I am a retired EWP Distributor - but am a Turbine Owner myself so understand how difficult this news is for all.
Aeolus Power (MOT's) Ltd is an ASP (Approved Service Provider) for EWP wind turbines and would of course be happy to help out with any future servicing and Maintenance - as would the other ASP's - Natural Generation, Earthmill, Scaled Energy in Scotland and Silverford Renewables in Ireland.
You may be interested also in a new Insurance Backed Warranty that has recently been launched: if you would like more information then please call Aeolus Power (MOT's) Director - Victoria Griffiths on 01454 633323

so you honestly think that a uk government decision caused a worldwide company to go bust wow we have more power post brexit than even i thought

Wind turbine MOTs?

Whatever next..........

That's the nature of over subsidised industries. The subsidies disappear off to new companies they were never meant to go to, set up for the sole purpose of milking the system, with the knowledge that they'll disappear as soon as the subsidies do.
Others are left to pick up the pieces, and eventually, once all the moaning about 'government cuts' is over, we'll be left with some decent service companies that will keep everything going long term.
No, the problem here is entirely different. The government have virtually over night cancelled most subsidies on in-land windturbines. The manufacturers have invested in the past in order to supply the growing demand in the UK and had no chance of repay the loans they have taken to do that.
It is completely irresponsible of the government to change direction just like that. If they had to reduce the subsidies, that should have been at least a 5-year plan of gradual reductions to give business time to adjust.
And of course its utter lunacy to be cancelling support for renewable energy and offering support for Fossil fuel energy. What bloody idiots!

They even pulled the plug on carbon capture research. Idiots is too polite, w*****s is more like it.

When a new age for renewables arrives will the investing public be receptive or will it remember the past government actions ?

Still putting big turbines and solar parks around the place

Yes but your question holds the answer BIG , not small farm size turbines or even domestic solar sized solar system.
The goverment has pretty much pulled the rug on what was afordable for small to medium sized business in terms of wind and your average housholder i terms of solar but the megger wind and solar schemes are still going ahead but are for multinational owned energy companies not supported by FIT.

I had a call from Dream Endurance Investments today who rent the two on my ground to tell me that they are still sound and operating.

Its Endurance Canada who have gone into receivership. Endurance UK have not, at least so far.
The chap was well aware of all the speculation and was trying to head off my and other rental based landowners concerns.

As far as they, investors in the Endurance machines are concerned its not the end of the world. The machines are built with pretty much off the shelf components which don't appear to have any supply problems so far. They are currently getting service from approved sub contractors(Scaled Energy in my case) who have good knowledge and there is no reason for that not to continue with maybe a blip in part supply till new channels open up.

If a machine down means you are not getting income due to rent being based on generation , i would have a look in your contract, should have a fall back of eviction if no rent paid. Threaten them with it.
However if your problem is warranttee or parts for your own machine you will have big problems. In theory anything is repairable with the right engineer, it may be expensive though, but you cant afford to keep waiting and missing FIT

Some insurances have clauses for 'down time' on renewables. And your contract with the grid certainly does. You are committed to producing x and y , so possibly use their leverage if downtime gets out if hand.
I thought a week was too long, particularly as everyone in the chain seemed to think that was 'normal'. A week to 3 months, take your pick.
I claimed downtime from the main supplier of inverters.

5 months is ridiculous.

Same here. Paul R. is obviously phoning round all the rental machines.

@WindCare & @marc@cpsl-group & @WindWarrantyPlus and to a lesser extent @Earthmill & @DC21 Maybe you could learn a few tips from many of the other commercial users of this forum. The best of them find that wit, banter, helpful advice & a whiff of TFF discount makes friends and new customers. Blatant plugs then disappearance does not. It's a shame that the renewable energy section is particularly plagued by this, and this does an industry sector that has enough critics no favours.

Fair point, I'm active on a few (non-renewable energy forums), good banter makes for a good forum.

It might actually be refreshing to talk about some of the issues with the E-3120 without having to worry about upsetting EWP! Some will know I've not been one to be quiet in the dealer tech sessions.... so where to start, bed plates, hubs, blade design, brake performance.... hmm.....

The Government are doing enough to kill renewable energy without us trying to kill each other. The loss of any company in the field is dissapointing. The problem is usually that people that are good with spanners are useless at customer care and vice versa. There are going to be loads of people acrosss the country that have spent a lot of time and money on planning consultnts and bat surveys and newt studies and any other report that the planners can thnk of not to mention the radar and Grid connection problems. They now won't be able to have an Endurance turbine and there aren't very many alternatives. CPSL-Group can suggest and supply and install alternative turbines and help with the planning alterations.. CPSL can connect any size turbine to the Grid as a G83 connection and store all of the power for use when you need it rather than only when it is being produced.. www.cpsl-group.co.uk 01704 841848

Mark 2 blades VERY heavy blade knocking. At times sounds like a clay shoot going on rather than a turbine running:(:mad:
Exploding flexible drive couplings :(
Very sensitive brake sensors that need reshimming regularly :(
Why oh Why didn't I just lease the site:(

So, which alternative turbines do you sell?
