I see that the NFU are dropping turbine insurance cover, and will be subbing it out to other companies from now.
Any recommendations of insurance companies to look for quotes from direct, or is it best to stick under the NFU umbrella (I highly doubt it!)

We have cover with Bruce Stephenson , how good they are i dont know you only find that out if you claim!!!

Bruce Stephenson is a broker, several suggeste that name to me but when I asked last year they were not taking on new business for E3120s and similar capacity. We are with Northern Alliance, again, a broker, the insurer is Aviva. Have a claim in at present so will see how good they are .....

If you have an e3120 it won't be if, but when you have to claim.

I think you are right.

Our structural engineer was genuinely shocked when we showed him the bedplate on the e series and not surprised that they are failing.

We are also really concerned about the e series brake and currently trying to develop an electrical braking fix to be able to put less strain on the mechanical braking system.

That's a main shaft broken I'd think. Endurance stopped around 40 turbine's in January of this year from the same batch for that shaft to be inspected after a couple of shafts sheared. Mine was one of the 40 stopped and wasn't allowed to run for over 6 weeks through peak wind harvest conditions, but after two fails of the shaft it miraculously passed its third test!!!! Very unsure how accurate the testing was or rather if Endurance could afford to rectify the shafts.

Has anyone else seen cracks in towers - at the toe of the weld just below the yaw ring? We are aware of at least 6 but there will likely be more. Not good.
