Hi have a Komatsu 13t 130pc thinking of changing the fan belt
and couple of other bits .
Just wondered if there is any engineers familiar with Komatsu in Herefordshire / south Shropshire?

Pretty sure any man in van could sort that. Doesn't need to be a komatsu specialist

I've checked the track motor oils ,changed engine oil filter and hydraulic filters checked .
Managed to take some slack off the belt before but to change it completely is more fiddly .
Wanted someone who knows what they are doing with this particular machine .

What age is the 130 ?... all ours needed was a 1/2 ratchet to take the tension off the idler pulley and a few guards taken off the top of the engine.

Sounds like what we did to tension up existing belt but
thought there was more to it to replace with new belt .
Will look again .
Used a bar to move pulley before readjusting tension
then tightened up.

Ours is a bit older but there was a square shaped 1/2 inch hole in the tensioner and all we had to do was put the ratchet in and pull back on the tensioner to release the tension on the belt. Managed to get belt of the fan no problem, unless the newer ones are different it shouldn't be a difficult job ?

I will have another look and report back.
Turbo pipe was in the way and some guards we had to remove
when we tightened up existing belt ,for some reason thought it was
more of a job to replace with new but will revisit.(y)

At that year will be a -7? Just got rid of one last year. Cracking machine. Belt will be no bother if you can manage those other things.
think have to take air con belt off as well it’s all generally bit fiddly but straight forward.
Check out tensioner for alternator and make sure bottom bolt is tight when your in about, as they are bad for slackening and wearing out bottom mount in alternator.
