Enlarged prostate?

Ive suffered from chronic prostatitis for over 10 years ,doctor used to put me on antibiotics when it was bad but I hate taking those so tried to live with it , decided in June I would get checked again with a consultant in the local hospital, since I've not heard anything since June I phoned the hospital yesterday to be told as it was not urgent I would have to wait another 13 Months ,
So I now have the option of going private at Werndale Hospital in the next few weeks , no idea if they can help me but I just need someone who understands these things to talk to ,
Sorry for the long winded posts that's no help ,I don't normally talk about my health to anyone only my family and one best friend

When field trialing dogs on open moorland, I was fascinated by one doctor competitor who regular stopped to re-tie his bootlace. I only realised the usefulness of the ruse when I had to use it my self! All cured by having an op that required no more than a day in hospital. Been good for ten years now.

What price private consultation? ( No pun intended! )

Not sure that I fully understand about the bootlaces, could you clarify for this Dumbo?

If you are 'elderly' and want to tie a bootlace, I assume you will kneel and your leg will obscure the view of your masculinity when in mixed company? There aren't usually any trees to pee behind on open moorland!;)

Thanks for the clarification, I had once been told that going down on one knee to supposedly tie a shoelace, or look at something on the bottom shelf in the supermarket, can stem the urgency to pee; as can crunching up one's toes.

Often, when trapped on an open beach and needing to pee, I would turn in the direction of the least populated area but then that sometimes meant peeing into the wind.

Get the op! (Difficult just now, I agree). But I thoroughly researched the subject back when and communicated with several Americans who had had Green Light. A Czech friend who was a consultant urologist offered to remove my prostate which he said was the only sure remedy. (He's right, but I don't like the side effects). In the USA, Green Light is a walk in in procedure. You walk out after the op the same day. I was number 35 to have it in this country. There are machines everywhere now and thousands have had the op here. It really isn't worth messing with, it's so straight forward.

Many thanks for the advice and encouragement; I am long over due a medications review with my GP so will take up the matter with her but will hope that she has cut her fingernails, lest she wants to redo the rectal investigation.

Looking at an advert for another natural cure. Based on stinging nettles and the fruit of Saw Palmetto
If you think this is a suitable substitute for what in the UK is 48 hours in hospital and a walk-in-walk out op in the USA, more power to your elbow. I do not consider 10 cases to be sufficient to base any sort of scientific conclusion on while the availability of machines for Green Light since my op (No.35 in the country and only two machines) to many thousands of successful ops now and the machines being quite common. My conclusions based on personal experiences and still having an active life farming at age 81.

These guys went to hospital to die same as UK. What they did was tried various treatments on batches of 10. The batch on Tamoxifen and Pomegranate juice had an 80% success rate of survival. I think that would even pass the wrong kind of statistics that are used in UK agric trials.
If you don't believe it ok no problem.
