As above they seem to be on the mark , decent newsletters , bought quota and entitlements off them over the years 👍
Agreed to buy quota off Townsend's in the past, all priced up deal done, waited for paperwork which never came. Phoned up too see what was happening and was told the price had gone up (was getting close to deadline date). I bought else where just in time, and would never deal with them again. This also happened to some one else I know in a later year. Mark Dyson was much better to deal with.

Last time I bought entitlements I just rang Townsend to see what they where trading at then asked on here if anyone was selling some. Got a good deal from a forum member as they had no broker fees to pay and they transferred them while I was on the phone, very pleased with the deal.

All of the land we have bought/rented since bps came in had entitlements included or we purchased them separately, they were of no use to the person selling the land

I'm intrigued as to why 15 years down the line since entitlements were introduced there is still bare land, is this because the former owner/ tenant sold the entitlements off separately?
I may not want to buy entitlements from the people who have given up the land when they want to sell them, also I am to lose one small field elsewhere to horses and so won't need as many as they have got

Land gets sold to people who don’t claim the bps or aren’t eligible and the entitlements elapse, the land is then sold on an the new owner has to then buy entitlements to claim.

Where on there does it say current prices?
Usually best to give them a call and see what the price is on the day, but remember they will be changing a broker fee so will be more expensive than a private sale.

It doesn't as there is no 'live' market at the moment.

I put the post up as a potential source of information for the future use of the OP, in addition to comment on here.

Transfers are not open until February/March when RPA upload the 2021 BPS data. I am not an agent but do assist complete a few BPS forms. Have used Townsends and a few other agents in the past and as such get regular email update from Townshends.
