i know i'll need it.....thing is rpa 'lost' some entitlements during transfer in 2015..so rather than risk a third year i thought i'd try and buy some....but i can really only justify the price quoted

I notice in farmers weekly that they refer to vat sales on entitlements, so any price paid will have vat added and would be reclaimable? have i got that right?
Yes.
As a capital investment, they can also be written down as a CGT loss once they are made worthless at the next round of reforms (as SFP entitlements were), which can be banked to use offset (part of) any potential future Capital Gains.
Are you sure about this, I thought they were carried over, and if you were without or short of, you applied to National Reserve?
Correct. They have to be idle for two years before they expire.Had 10ha clawed back, as described in Entitlement statement last year, I didn’t think they could do it for 2 years if not used.
I’m also looking for 16ha of non sda entitlements if anyone has some they need to shift.
