Error code 18.1.6B Fendt Varioguide

Hi, i'm new in this forum, but i don't find a place to introduce myself.

I'm a spanish farmer (sorry for my english, I help myself with a translator), my name is Pablo and i'm 24 years old. I work with my father and we hace a 2007 New holland T7040 and a 2018 Fendt 720 Profi Plus.

I use fendt Varioguide with SBAS/EGNOS signal, with a trimble AG382 receptor. In the last year an error code appears randomly (18.1.6B) and the autoguide stops working. My tractor dealer has told me that they need to change a valve or a sensor, they have to remove the cab and it will cost me about 2000 euros. They have told me that without any cheking or verification. I have not had good experiences with this dealer, so I am a bit wary of them (I am also aware that they may be right).

In the maintenance book it says: "Y087 -"Válvula de la dirección del guiado automático (auto guide steering valve)", the actuator cannot engage neutral.

What can I do? Has anyone had the same problem?
Thank you so much in advance for your opinions and advices,
Best regards

Pablo.

Isn't the fault code clearly pointing to the hydraulic steering valve (at the orbitrol)? A bit earlier many if not most of the Fendts had issues with this valve, I think it used to be a different fault code though.

On the 700 series Fendt the valve is in a really difficult position to access unfortunately.

Thanks for the answer.
I have been looking for more information about this error code, and I've found a German page (link) that talks about Y087 - steering valve block Autoguide. I understand that it's possible to calibrate this valve with the onboard computer with the code 2403, but I don't want to touch anything without the necessary knowledge.
When this error code appears, I turn off the tractor, wait a minute, and then it works perfectly. Sometimes the error appears 10 minutes later or 10 days later.

The document behind your link is for an older Fendt, I don't know if the auto-steer valve is similar.

The valve and steering angle sensor calibrations are straightforward to do and well explained by the tractor manual. Should not harm at all if you try valve calibration. I don't know if it could solve the fault code issue, hope it does.

Thanks, I have read the varioguide manual of my tractor and it explains how to calibrate the steering valve with the code 2403 and the steering angle sensor with the code 2401. I think I'll try it. I'll post here when I try it.

Hello, did you get it fixed, have the same problem.....
Hello, finally my dealer changed a valve, which is located behind the right rear tire. I don't know why they told me that they had to remove the cab the first time, and it didn't cost me anything. I think the first time they didn't understood which was the real problem.

Thank you for answearing, can you please ask them what valve it was? Cause our tractor is almost impossible to drive now with error codes and we need to get fields planted.. Thank you in advance my fellow farmer🙂

They can, or atleast they think, they say its the autoguide valve under the cab, but that has already been changed last winter under warranty (if not warranty, 5k) and now they say its broken again but i think its something else.. And to wait for the valve is going to take to the summer cause fendt has big troble with spare parts...
