1. Farmers, growers, processors and industry representatives are being asked for their views from 31 August for 10 weeks on the role of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).

The AHDB is a UK statutory levy board, funded by farmers, growers and others in the supply chain. As we leave the EU, there is an opportunity to ensure that the sectors that the AHDB covers are as competitive as possible. This review will look at the AHDB’s purpose and priorities, its strengths and where improvements need to be made.

This is a joint 10-week exercise covering England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The request for views will close on 9 November.

I knew nothing about it until you told me. It comes to something when someone in Scotland lets me know about a sale on a farm I can see across the river!
I'm going to have to go now, just to see what that old Massey drill is like. It would look the part behind my 1200!

I got there to get the drill, and was in time to see the swathers go for about £800 apiece. They obviously hadn't cut anything for many years!!

There were plenty of beardy types around them!
Someone said the acrobat made a fiver, and it did look a bit sorry for itself.

It turns out that my long lost uncle used to drill with it up to about 6 years ago, and his old employers who put it in the sale love the story, and are looking out any other old bits they've got for it!

Not many people there with most items selling at sensible prices rather than the over inflated prices you often see at farm sales.
