Eu trade deal.

I thought we were told a deal was needed by last Friday or there will not be time to get it ratified in parliaments... technically EU break on the 14th December I think... they might do an emergency session on the 28th if a deal has been struck... but that will not allow much time for the EU to have internal negotiations required to ensure the deal gets approved by all member states... there is no certainty that all states will consider the deal to be one they are happy to ratify... for some their vote may offer negotiating leverage well above their usual position and they may not wish to waste it... My money remains on no trade deal being struck and it is WTO terms from 1st Jan.

yes your right , i recon Macron will torpedo any deal over and above all other states , Its whether the irish / germans have any sway over him that will be the deal breaker

Emergency session on the 28th and short extension to ratify in the new year. Maybe.

They have to be seen to be trying. Noone wants to be the one left holding the sharp end of the shitty stick come "blame day".

Well, I know exactly where I will be pointing my grubby digit, and it ain't across La Manche....

I suspect a lot of Tories will be distancing themselves from the rabid Brexiteers, as and when "blame day" has arrived for precisely the reason you give...
