I thought we were told a deal was needed by last Friday or there will not be time to get it ratified in parliaments... technically EU break on the 14th December I think... they might do an emergency session on the 28th if a deal has been struck... but that will not allow much time for the EU to have internal negotiations required to ensure the deal gets approved by all member states... there is no certainty that all states will consider the deal to be one they are happy to ratify... for some their vote may offer negotiating leverage well above their usual position and they may not wish to waste it... My money remains on no trade deal being struck and it is WTO terms from 1st Jan.
