The EU is finished. Italy is doing its own thing; the Polish and Romanians are doing their own thing. Why do you think the EU want an army to control? It will be just like the Czechoslovakian revolution in 68, anyone dares ignore the diktat of the EU, in go the tanks.
Is this what you really think would happen? If you do,you need a brain transplant!

Why else do they want a EU army? Tell me one good reason. NATO has held the peace for decades, and in fine balance.

The EU has already shown how upset it gets when the Turks, Cyprus or the Poles won't listen to them. Italy just agreed its own budge, ignoring EU 'advice', the Romanians and Bulgarians ignored the EU when it came to accepting refugees.

These people are not going to be dictated to by an unelected bunch of muppets ever again.

This may be an extreme view, too much for some, but in the not too distant future this social experiment will unravel and the fallout will not be pleasant. History is full of attempts to amalgamate nations and cultures under a common ideal and successes are very few.

It is an in extremis view of what may occur but I know this: I have conversed with several Eastern Europeans in recent months and a number of them held the view that the UK was doing the right thing in exiting the EU. Remember a lot of them do not have to be particularly old to remember what it was like living behind the iron curtain, they are not all so readily bought off with the EU trinkets they are being presented and these will decline very rapidly now the UK is no longer footing up the several billion per year it is currently.

These countries have memories, and have had someone trying to lord it over them before. They won't react to EU authority like well-behaved acquiescent dogs.

Look, ever more democracy being trampled by the back door.

BERLIN/PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron called on Sunday for Germany and France to dig deeper as allies in their bid to spearhead a more united Europe, including by overcoming lingering scepticism on issues such as a euro zone budget.

“This new phase can be scary as we will have to share, pool together our decision-making, our policies on foreign affairs, migration and development, an increasing part of our budgets and even fiscal resources, build a common defence strategy,” Macron said at the Bundestag.

I keep telling you this is nothing more than empire building in a mould of the forth Reich and it won't end well.

It all sounds very chummy but with sinister overtones. Theirs is a massive gamble but a dangerous, ill conceived and dangerous one.
