Have a 12m Evans and Pearce broadcaster at home that has been retired from slug duties in place of a new bullock tillage unit, was looking at trying to use the old e&p spinner to put ground feed out for pheasants so need to slow the disc down, would a standard fan controller type thing work like this?

I think that that sort of thing will slow the motor or you could take every other vien of the spinner and shut it right down.
I noticed you had a arctic cat diesel, if you ever need any parts we have broken one and are dealers so can supply new parts!

Sorry to go off topic but how do you get on with the Bullock tillage spinner we got a new one this year and it is miles out on application rates is yours the same?

Dismantle the disc and remove or shorten the spreading vanes but it depends how far you want to spread them.

If it's the same as ours, it uses the motor inertia to open the shutter - by slowing the motor down it may not have enough to open it?

That was my only misgiving, wondered about running two power cables, one for the shutter and one for the motor so both could be controlled separately

No ours has been about spot on tbh, mounted it on the pickup truck so I can take all the pellets with me as well, just need to work it out with the book figures, I had heard of someone on the Isle of Wight wiring it directly to the tractor battery and it causing issues with it opening too fast and hard and bending the actuator rod, plugged mine straight into a cobo 3 pin plug and been fine

The rates on ours are miles out we set it as the book says and it is doing half that at best. We are using on the bike, the actuator is working fine but the rate on slug pellets is way out.

Sounds like a good idea. Think Stocks use a central locking actuator on their shutter - can get them for less than a fiver from eBay

Having same issue with mine. Happy with the machine and mainly been on front linkage of my puma 165cvx but the calibration chart as you say is miles out. Highly frustrating when weather windows are short and a 2nd pass is required to get the correct amount applied
