Been a stinker here today and ground very wet after a lot of rain in the last few days, but cattle look happy and it’s forecast fine after tonight so hopefully stay out at least another week

Very heavy downpours here today, on top of plenty of rain over the weekend, means it's getting pretty close to in time . They are in at night, but going out onto fodder crop during the day. As you can imagine, the gateway is getting pretty muddy.

It’s getting damper but the ground is soaking the rain up pretty well. Just keeping them moving is the key. Not worried about leaving some grass as they can always come back to it.

Same here, got away with an inch n half last week. Normally would finish us off this time of year, but its so dry underneath, its going in. Keeping them moving is certainly the key. Fingers crossed for another couple of weeks!

Much better for mature Cows to be out with a belly full of not very good quality feed. View attachment 735582

You guys can say we've got it easy in the lowlands but I'd love to have a hill like that I could winter cattle on!
Mind, I might not be so keen when you're battling through snow in Jan to feed them and I am putting bales in the shed.:)

What age would folks want blue heifers for bulling? Well grown .
Mine are bulling like mad now. On some very good quality first cut silage
