if ofgen and mcs had held some of these enegy companies to account a lot more , the end user ( ie us ) would not be having all the problems all along , the renewable industry is full of sharks .

Would be interested too, but would have more faith in this if the information (and answers to the first two questions) was posted openly rather than through a PM.

Hi all, I hope it's okay to post in here but I have recently taken over the sales role for Ryse Energy; the company who bought over Gaia last year - https://ryse.energy/

I can only apologise if the previous Gaia poster did not respond to anyone but I would be more than happy to provide prices and info to anyone who is interested - either PM me or email [email protected] please.
The pricing is very specific to each site so I do understand why there would be some reluctance to post a number publicly.

It's probably worth mentioning that we also have a financing option - our sister company Access Energy will look at buying your turbine and will bear the costs of the head swap, servicing and maintenance. Basically Access Energy transfers ownership of the remaining Feed-in Tariff and in return provides the site owner with free electricity, an annual lease payment and an upfront contribution. Again, happy to provide more details!

Thanks,

Ross.

Hi
My name is gareth, I’m currently doing a degree at the open university and I’m doing my dissertation on wind turbines and there structural integrity and I’m basing it on the proven energy turbine there was one that collapsed due to a weld failure in Shetland few years ago so I’m basing my project on this, I’m struggling to find specific information on the design of the tower especially the joint in the middle which is bolted together and the flanges of which are welded to each end also what material exactly are they made from, is this something you might be able to help me with, iv contacted several of the companies that took over from proven and managed to get some info from VG wind but it wasn’t much help. So iv started looking at forums as I know this particular turbine had alot of issues if you could help that would be great or if you know of anyone else I could contact that would be good too
Thanks
Gareth

Hi there.
Interesting.
I think the resellers used or make/sell different masts possibly?
Gordon Proven the original Owner/designer is the man to ask if still alive ?
The web site years ago had all the spec. and pre planning data for each model turbine and different height masts ,may be on net still somewhere.
Lots of discussions on here:-

Sadly Gordon Proven died in 2011, but there are plenty of his machines still out with SD Wind being the latest to carry on the design. you likley wont find a huge amount of information as the towers will have been proprietary design but you might want to try checking out the HSE and seeing if they did an investigation. if they did then you can make a freedom of information request for it.
