No.

The best theory is to hide signs of the birth from predators.

It's really rich in iron/protein isn't it?
Some women cook their own or you can have it sent away to be powderised and put into tablet form - meant to stop post natal depression. It's full of hormones and blood that they need to replenish in their bodies - I asked the missus and she said it's about £150 and she was tempted if she had the money when we had our kids.

All rubbish. Include it with homeopathy, crystals and holly for ringworm:

Get some of them ewe clensings fried up for your breakfast :wtf::ROFLMAO:

Wow! I remember the hospital gave us a form to fill in when the missus was in labour for consent on where the placenta was to go, home(cooking), incinerator in hospital or sent away for encapsulation.

I assumed if you didn't say you wanted it then it was chucked!! I was asked if I wanted mine (would have gone on the birth plan I guess) but I really don't see what all the fuss is about and I don't fancy turning it into a smoothie and drinking it :yuck:

Yeah it went for incineration. Birth plan :ROFLMAO:
Get the baby out was the plan. We never had a birth plan as we knew different complications can occur so easily/quickly etc and it's all about getting the baby out as safely and efficiently as possible no matter what the method - missus wasn't happy being described as a mule mind (n)

Beggars in the hospital called me an " elderly primate"! I think I had the option of selling the placenta to some cosmetic company that used it in facial products (That would have been a private arrangement.) or having it to eat/dispose of - I think there was a thing about burying it at the time. In fact I think some hospitals were found to just be selling to the cosmetics trade without patient consent but I wouldn't be 100% sure of that!

Edit - what was your wife packing then @Al R, coke, H?
