yes, fodder beet variety Feldherr is ok for older ewes. to make sure .. a few younger ewes mixed in with them will bite into the beet and the older mouthed ewes will then be able to get a bite easier.
they always used to feed Mangel as a much softer option to turnip and swede.
Feldherr is a mangel replacement and is smaller which actually makes them a bit better/easier to bite into ir.
