Ewes aborted and other issues

Thanks All. Had major fluke probs two autumns ago and it affected ewes badly last lambing. Made sure kept on top fluking this year. As vet said dose is defiantly working or the sheep would be dropping like flies. Did day the sickly ones could have had fluke in them before dose in December and fluke didn't fully kill them. I find it hard deciding things. Not cause I can't but before no matter what I'd choose I'd be told by a lot I was wrong and if didn't do what someone says then I'm worse in world

We rang them to say we're taking lamb to lab for testing and he agreed but before that one he just says could be knock or something

It could well be a knock or something, but you do seem to have more than your fair share of bad luck. I would want to get to the bottom of it, to be able to know what to tackle in the future. Your vet doesn’t seem as proactive as most I’ve dealt with for some reason.:scratchhead:

It is easy to get bogged down with too much information and not see the wood for the trees sometimes. Advice is useful but sometimes it does not see the full picture, and everyones flocks and farms are different, so with the best will in the world, it can be the wrong advice for your particular situation.
You really care for your animals, and try your best for them, and that is all any of us can do. I am glad you have a better vet, and lets hope he can give you some answers.

New vet practice 100% more helpful than old ones so far with the dealings Iv had. I haven't had a smooth progression time with sheep since 2015. Between lambs bad, fluke and now this last few weeks

Re,heptavac,I would rather do it a bit early as a booster than be late.

Once boosted the reaction should give a useful extra peak over quite a period.

If you are late the ewe cannot turn the reaction into antibodies if it has not had time to give the full effect.

Hi, lab said lambs had no toxo or enzo in them or any other major issues but there to continue search. No more aborted since thankfully. Vet said it's either stress, a knock , or nutrition that's caused them

Ah glad to hear it, you often get a run of it at the beginning and it can settle down.
Hopefully that’s it passed.
(We had listeria one year and it caused abortions.) Something different every year with sheep!
