Kept sheep for well over 40 years but never had this before. BFL ewe gone on side 9 days ago, got in , ate and drank well but couldnt stand even when lifted up, no strength/control over legs. dead this morning.
Lambing not due till 7th April (by calendar!)
2 days ago another ewe, Romney, reluctant to come to the daily feed, Yesterday found lying down and had to be encouraged to stand and not interested in feed put under nose but otherwise responsive. This morning lying as yesterday and cant get to stand.
Neither show blindness, or tremors. have plenty of silage and fed rolls daily.
Anyone had similar or have helpfull suggestions please
