Ewes on red clover

As the title says, been offered 20 acres of red clover to graze, for nothing!
Was going to put some ewes and rams on it,
my neighbour said it may not be good for them due to the oestrogen in it? (Ewes returning etc)
This is a new one to me, rams due out on the 10 th of Dec, would I be better to wait till then?
Or better still just put the last of my store lambs on it!
Any info greatly appreciated. (y)

There has been several threads on this subject in the past, learned opinion is that it is not good for tupping ewes on.

We tupped 250 ewes on a field and found out after that red clover wasn't good for them. Didn't affect results at all though. I'm guessing it's an inconsistent problem.

Its a matter of build up over time in the ewe---I tup on RC leys every year--no worries (yet)
