I use excel for recording loads of grain in and out of store, all movements are recorded on paper and I then input a batch at a time.
Each line has for example; Date, Customer, vehicle Reg., Gross weight, Tare weight and moisture. Further along the row I have various formulas working out Nett weight, weight loss, dry weight and drying costs.
What I would like to do is start on say Cell B4, enter the details, press return and it to go to C4, then D4 etc. until it reaches the last input cell, at this last cell, when I press return, I would like it to go to B5 and start the process again.
Thanks, this is only because I get fed up with navigating back to the start cell on each row.

Are you familiar with 'macros' ?

If you have a procedure that one has to carry out frequently in Excel, then by recording a macro and attaching it to keyboard control or a labelled button, you can repeat the procedure immediately. They are a bit involved, but could be useful in the situation you describe.

After inputting a value have you tried pressing tab instead of return, this shifts the cursor right.
Once at the end of the row, if you press 'Home' it will take you to the start, then just press down arrow.

I use Google sheets.
As above tab along, then hit enter at end it sends it to first cell next row down.

Thank you, all the years of using the cursor keys to move back and the answer was so simple.

@rollestonpark, on my computer it works as @Badshot says and return sends it to the first cell in the next row so no need to scroll down, Thank you too as, had I tried yours, I would have discovered that.

you could get a bit smarter and create a simple form that then populates the cells

You can change if you move a cell down or a cell to the right in Settings>advanced....

Do this and select which direction you want it to move (Windows systems go Options, Advanced, Editing Options):
