I had a quote for about £3600 for a solar powered gate system (to fit on existing gate). That could be rigged up to work from keypads, remote control fobs and/or a phone SIM card.

Seems a lot of money just to open a gate, but cattle grids are similar, and this gate is at the end of a long drive, so cabling would cost a good bit.

Spoken to another dude today, from local recommendation.
Will bob out soon to have a look which i think is essential.
I didn't know the ram can connect to the hanging box section. Id presumed separate support.

If you’re able to do it yourself you’ll save a fortune, I use this company.

These are very good as well, really helpful
When I did my storage compound gate 20 years ago, Came who manufacture a lot of the gear were offering training courses with a certificate at the end for £100.
So had a day out and did the course. Was far cheaper than getting someone in to fit the gate.
Presume it will be dearer now though
